Netscape Messenger 4 Setup Instructions
  1. Open Netscape
  2. Find the menu at the top (File, Edit, View, etc...)
  3. Select EDIT and then PREFERENCES
  4. Double-click MAIL and NEWSGROUPS
  5. Click on IDENTITY and enter the following information

  6. Your Name: Enter your name (ex. Joe Q. Public).
  7. Email Address: Enter your e-mail address here. (ex. joeq@somedomain.com)
  8. Your Reply-to address: Enter your e-mail address here. (ex. joeq@somedomain.com)

  9. Click on MAIL SERVERS (on the left)
  10. Click on ADD and enter the following information

  11. Enter POP.FIRSLINK.COM as the name of your incoming (POP3) mail server.
  12. Your Server Type is a POP Server.
  13. Enter your account name. Please contact FirstLink if you do not have this information.
  14. Check the SAVE PASSWORD check box.
  15. Enter your password.
  16. Check the SAVE PASSWORD checkbox (optional).
  17. Click OK.

  18. Enter SMTP.FIRSTLINK.COM as the name of your outgoing (SMTP) mail server.
  19. Set your outgoing mail server username to the same username as your incoming mail server.
  20. When you send e-mail, you may be prompted to enter a password for the username you supplied. This should only occur the first time. After that, Netscape will save the password.
  21. Click the OK button to complete the setup.
