| Outlook/Outlook Express Setup Instructions
- Open your Microsoft Outlook Express.
- Find the menu at the top of Outlook Express (File, Edit, View, etc...).
- Select TOOLS and then ACCOUNTS.
- Find the MAIL tab and click on it.
- Select ADD and then MAIL and enter the following information.
- Display Name: Enter your name. (ex. Joe Q. Public)
- Click NEXT.
- Email Address: Enter your e-mail address here. (ex. joeq@somedomain.com)
- Click NEXT.
- Your incoming mail server is a POP3 server.
- Enter POP.FIRSTLINK.COM as the name of your incoming (POP3) mail server.
- Enter SMTP.FIRSTLINK.COM the name of your outgoiung (SMTP) mail server.
- Click NEXT.
- Enter your account name. Please contact FirstLink if you do not have this information.
- Enter your password.
- Check the SAVE PASSWORD checkbox (optional).
- Click NEXT and the FINISH.
- Select the Mail tab.
- Double-click on your new mail account.
- Click on the Servers tab.
- On the bottom of the Servers tab, put a checkmark in the box that reads "My server requires authentication".
- Click on the Settings button to the right.
- If you are using a FirstLink account (this includes any domains currently hosted by FirstLink) select "use same settings as my incoming mail server".
- If you are checking an e-mail address that does not exist at FirstLink, you will need to select "Log on using" and supply the username and password from FirstLink.
- DO NOT select "Log on using Secure Password Authentication"!
- Click OK, then APPLY, then OK again. You should now be in the main Outlook/Outlook Express window.
